About this deal

okay so looking back at this i never mentioned the crying in my actual review because i'm NOT joking it was pathetic. I will say that one thing I hate is the miscommunication trope and this book is all about it, which is the only reason I gave it four stars. This is a person, who at worst, was your friend and at best, was someone you were hoping very much for more with, and this is the way they acted.

Charlie insists that members of the opposite sex can’t just be friends, and Bailey is determined to prove him wrong. The writing was so quick witted, the scenes so heartfelt and the characters so authenticity teenagers, that it will likely be one of my favourite books of the year. her internal conflict with her parents’ divorce and her mom’s new boyfriend were well done and i liked how everything wrapped up in that regard. The book was a bit long for a YA romcom contemporary, and I felt like it could have done without some parts having as much page time.bailey might be my fav fmc from these books, but they’re all so incredibly similar atp it’s hard to tell who is who.

I could have done with a little bit less of Charlie being a complete ass and trying to ignore his feelings, but I liked the way things worked out in the end. So many homes consist of blended families now it's pretty much normal, but that doesn't mean it does not impact the offspring of the original parents. I found the plot of the story started off a little slow for my liking, but once we got into the details of the story I couldn’t put the book down. I have been slowly moving away from YA, especially YA romance because I am getting older and these books don't have the vibes or emotions I really want in my romance books - but this one. In the beginning I loved the hints but after a while I got annoyed AND THIS IS COMING FROM A SWIFTY!Because in the scene mentioned below she's in the kitchen to eat breakfast but in Colorado she apparently doesn't? i was really hoping they'd have a conversation about how bailey felt about her mom and scott's marriage.

plus these book are so incredibly unrealistic and it annoys me bc shit like this never happens but it’s YA so i need to stop being such a scrooge. Bailey is also having issues with her father, who lives in Alaska and this is something that really bothers her but something that she hasn’t even told her mother about?Since I wasn’t related to this jackass of a man in any way, shape, or form, I was going to have to disagree with him and say that it wasn’t okay for me—at seventeen—to be nipping out and bare-legged in front of his fortysomething ass. AAAAND he was willing to give bailey his damn CAT that he loved so much just to prove that he'd want to see bailey forever. NO GOOD ROMANCE starts off with the fmc watching the mmc literally suction the shit out of a random girl's face, and then complain about commitment issues 5 minutes later. it took me a long time to warm up to him, and i can say he is my least favorite love interest in any of lynn painter’s books so far. His eyes burned into mine and he said, "When you're in the room, every single cell in my body—every nerve, every muscle, every breath—is lost in you.
