About this deal

Originally designed in the 1960s, they were very popular in the 1970s when they reached their peak popularity.

I also used to have a plastic Babycham Deer display, again probably 70s, looked great in the bar area though, but I got rid of it a long time ago! We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with our services and as described in my Privacy Policy. Be ready for a crush of newly clued-up glass collectors in September, when a guide to popular and available 20th-century glass goes on sale. Could make a nice Xmas present for an older relative/friend who remembers the days of drinking Brandy and Babycham out of these glasses. This classic Babycham glass brought back so many good memories of my childhood - I remember my nan sitting sipping her Babycham every Christmas and thinking how sophisticated she looked! Don't forget to share this article with your friends and family so that they too can discover the value of their vintage glassware. If you're unsure about the value of your Babycham glasses, there are a few things you can do to find out. I do realise that they are a business and need to make money but I couldn’t believe how much they were charging for them. Brush the inside of the mould with a flavourless oil like grapeseed before pouring the jelly mix in.

The condition of the glass, the rarity of the design, and the age of the glass all play a role in determining its value.I actually have a pillow made from some kind of promotional Babycham fabric featuring what I think is the 60s deer and the slogan “I’d just love a Babycham”. The reason why even spectacular vases and sculptural pieces still suffer such treatment is because they rarely bear identifying factory or designer marks. Even a small chip or crack can significantly reduce the value of a piece, so be sure to inspect any prospective purchases carefully. When I started writing this blog it was supposed to be about my small inherited collection of Babycham glasses; the designs and differences between them, but once I started writing I realised it was actually about my grandma, what happened when she died, and why I think it’s relevant to this blog. Place upside down on a plate and place a tea towel, previously soaked in hot water, over the top of the mould to help loosen the jelly - wet the plate first so you can slide the jelly into its centre.

The rarest of this type I have found has a straight up and down round stem from top to base to the glass looks like the rest of the glasses with the yellow fawn facing right with front legs bent under and the original dark blue ‘BABYCHAM’ listing around the base (not sure of precise date)With a gold gilt rim to the glass. And I got an idea of what he meant when I found myself within yards of Doncaster's Wednesday market, just as it was packing up, and decided to take a punt.
