About this deal

I already know there are a few other head units that I could replace in my car, although the selection is very limited, based on the model of car that I drive, which is HAVAL. Many of us are driving around with phone holders holding up our screens to serve as a GPS or music player while we're on the go. But that does add a little bit of bulk around it, in terms of its depth, to cater to such a big screen. Bottom line, I can get in the car with my phone in my pocket, turn the car on, the CARPURIDE will connect, the phone will connect to the car’s Bluetooth, and I can then carry on as normal. Old fashioned, tactile switches will soon become a thing of the past but fear not, you too can embrace the digital age and install a stand-alone system.

Because I think is a good product and very convenient for those who wish to have handsfree driving while on the road.

means i can drive any of the cars and still have my podcast and maps with me just by having my phone handy.

The Carpuride 9 inch touchscreen definitely makes sense as an upgrade to an older stereo system that doesn’t have USB or Bluetooth connectivity and it does provide a higher level of functionality but we do have to ask ourselves if it’s necessarily justified in our case when we can use most of the features available on our humble little iPhone connected to the USB head unit in the Volvo. The only decisions you need to make are which approach to take that best suits your requirements and whether to deploy the suction cup or dash mount when it comes to securing it in place. In the box, you get a paper instruction manual, one adjustable dashboard mounting bracket and an adhesive sticker for its base, there is an adjustable mount that attaches to the windscreen via a suction cup, a 12v adapter charging cable, an AUX audio cable, a ball joint adapter, the optional rearview camera and installation kit, and finally, there is the 9-inch car stereo display itself. Overall, it felt very much like any of the other wireless CarPlay Android units you can get for your car, in that it has a USB, auxiliary, power, a memory card slot, and a couple of other bits, like a microphone and a built-in speaker. The sensitivity may not be any better than the other model I have, but just because it is larger, there’s more potential for me to hit the right pixels on the screen to make it do what I want it to do. But I will definitely be keeping this in the car, and the previous model will probably be a gift to someone, in the hope that it operates or connects to their phone a little more consistently than mine. So overall, this display from Carpuride is a good alternative to some of the other standalone car stereo displays that are out there, and it is an easy way to bring older cars, old stereos, or even older hired cars into the future that can work well with today’s smartphones for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as allow the ability to playback various media. The current setup we utilise in our Volvo 940 Turbo is a stereo head unit that we plug our iPhone 6 into (yes, we know we’re living in the past but then we are classic enthusiasts after all…) for charging and music, using the phone itself for navigation when required so we thought we’d plumb the Carpuride system in and see how easy it is to a) set up and b) to live with on a day to day basis.

But those tiny screens can make it tempting to take hold of our devices, even with hands-free laws in effect. It doesn't matter if you prefer iOS or Android, as this unit supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto -- and you can use them wired or wirelessly. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

The first is a windscreen mount, which attaches to your windscreen and floats the display above your dashboard. Using Autolink however, on Android with its App and a cable connection, had some surprising audio sync delay issues from YouTube. Watts, and finally, there is the DC input port to power the display using the supplied 12v power cable.
